The African Wild Dog
The African Wild Dog by Nick Izatt
African wild dogs are found in Africa, south of the Sahara Desert. They prefer open grassland, savannas and woodlands. They are able to run at speeds of 30 mph for up to three miles. This helps them catch their prey. The African wild dogs eat meat. They eat gazelles, impalas, zebras, wildebeest, hares and rodents. They are known as the hunting dog. People are the enemy of the African wild dog. They kill them for their fur and because they feel threatened by them. People mistake them for coyotes, so they kill them. There are only 5000 left in the wild. They have black, brown, and yellow spots. They have been called the painted dog.
Piano Lessons Can Be Murder: A Book Report
Piano Lessons Can Be Murder!
A book report by Rosie Golden
Author: RL Stine
In the beginning Jerry and his mom, dad, and his mangy cat Bonkers were all moving into a new neighborhood. ‘This house is so big,’ says Jerry. You see his other house was very small. The bathroom in his new house is as big as his living room. It’s either that the new bathroom is really big or there old living room was really small. Jerry was always playing tricks on his parents on the day they moved in he saw dust balls and shaped them into mice. He screamed “mice”. His parents would come running. His mother screamed and his father grabbed the broom and started beating them. The moment he hit them, dust flew everywhere. His parents were mad.
In the middle, Jerry finds a piano in the attic. They took it into the living room. Jerry started taking piano lessons at the Shriek School of Music. At first he was very scared and didn’t want to start piano lessons. After he met Dr. Shriek he felt a little better because he knew who he was learning from. That night Jerry heard piano music coming from the music stopped, then, started up again when Jerry stepped off the bottom step. The music stopped and all he saw was a blur go by. He felt a slight chill. This kept happening every night until one time the person didn’t leave, but he couldn’t see anyone. A minute later a girl sat on the piano bench playing. But she wasn’t normal because she was gray and you could see throw her. She’s a ghost. “Stay away”. She said. Then all of her hair fell off. Then her skin now she was just a body with a skull. She had burning fireballs in the sockets of her eyes. She stared at him and yelled “stay away!”
At the end Jerry tells Dr. Shriek that he wants to quit but Dr. Shriek says you can’t leave, Jerry. “Why? Said Jerry. Because I need your hands. What? You can’t have them no you just can’t. But we need them. Jerry ran and ran he ran into a room with a bunch of instructors by pianos. They were bobbing their heads and listening to the music. Jerry looked around for student but all he saw was hands! No people, just hands playing pianos. Just then Dr. Shriek ran in and started to go crazy. Then the janitor pulled a switch and everything just stopped. “Thank you” said Jerry. How did you get them to stop like that? I control them. How. They’re my robots. You mean you created them. Yes I did. They’re all robots. Okay thanks. I got to my mom’s waiting for me. Jerry you can’t go. I still need your hands. I thought you were saving me. But I still need your hands for my collection. Can’t you just build them. No. That moment all the ghosts came and claimed there hand and killed the janitor.
This book was and is a very good book. I would most definitely recommend others to read it and other Goosebumps by RL Stine. I hope you enjoyed my report.
